As you approach the AP Exam, you will have to create a study plan. Your study plan will depend on how much time you have to review, your preferred study style, and the depth of review you desire. This page contains a variety of the best review materials that can fit your study plan. If you have the time, you might want to try more than one book. Reviewing the same content in different ways helps solidify your understanding of the material. Most importantly, find the book that works best for you. Remember, what works for your classmates might not work for you.
Princeton Review - Cracking the AP European History Exam (2020 Premium Edition)
The Princeton Review is what I based my AP Exam Review notes on and is the book I preferred to use. It goes deep into the material, ensuring all the content that will be on the exam is covered. I recommend this book for people who have at least a month before the AP Exam and want a thorough review of content. The premium version of the book (linked above) has questions at the end of each section in addition to five practice tests to assess your knowledge.
Barron's - AP European History (10th Edition)
Barron's is a student favorite for any AP Exam. It is very similar to the Princeton Review, in that it goes deep into the material to give you the level of understanding needed to do well on essay questions. If you don't use the Princeton Review, I highly recommend using Barron's review book. In order to maximize its use, you should have at least a month before the AP Exam to review. Five practice tests are also included in this premium edition. The quality of content should not be a worry to you when choosing between Princeton and Barron since they both do a great job at covering the information. When choosing, pick the book with the format that fits your study method best.
Crash Course - AP European History (3rd Edition)
Crash Course also has a great review book when it comes to AP European History. I did not use this book when reviewing, but I know many of my classmates who were in a time crunch were able to successfully use this book. The book contains access to an online practice test and is a bit cheaper than the other review resources I have listed. I recommend this book for people who do not have much time for review, and want a book that covers the general content of the exam. This is a great high yield resource.
5 Steps to a 5 - AP European History (2020 Edition)
I'll be honest with you, I don't know much about this review book but I wanted to list it here to give you more options. Everyone studies differently, and you might find that this book works for you. It contains three practice tests and appears to be a more generalized overview of the content. I would look into this book only if you have very little time to study, want more practice tests, or want a supplemental book for your review.
